Park Ridge permits for kitchens, baths, and basements
The City of Park Ridge says a permit is required for most construction, including additions, interior and exterior alterations, heating and air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, decks, and siding. Reviews typically take up to two weeks, two weeks is the standard during the May through September busy season, and revised submittals typically take about another week. Inspections are booked in morning or afternoon blocks with a one to two business day lead time. Section 14-9-3 of the Municipal Code allows construction from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, with Sunday and holiday work restricted.

The city’s Zoning Calculations Workbook covers floor area ratio, lot coverage, and open space, and pre-development meetings are available.
