Seven phases from first call to your final walkthrough.
Most remodels feel like a black box once the contractor leaves the estimate visit — "we'll get back to you" silences, surprise change orders, weekslong stalls. We documented every phase below so you know exactly what happens, when, and who's doing it.

Free in-home consultation
- We come to your home — measure tape, level, notepad. We respond to most inquiries within 2 hours on business days.
- You walk us through what you want changed, what you wish was different, what's been frustrating about the space.
- We ask the questions estimators usually skip — load-bearing walls, plumbing routing, electrical capacity, village code constraints.
Design & fixed-price quote
- We map the scope on paper — layout changes, finishes, fixtures, materials, appliances.
- You get a single written number, broken down by line item. No "TBD" placeholders, no "we'll figure it out as we go."
- You take time to decide. We don't chase you — most homeowners sit with the quote for a week before signing.
Material order & schedule lock
- Once you sign, we order long-lead items first — cabinets, custom counters, anything with 4+ week lead time.
- You get a project schedule with weekly milestones and which crew is on each phase.
- If permits are required, we handle the village/county filings. No homeowner trips to the building department.
Demo & site prep
- Floors covered with masonite or ramboard. Walls protected, dust barriers sealed where work zones meet living zones.
- We haul our own debris in our own truck — no rented dumpster sitting in your driveway for weeks.
- End-of-shift cleanup every day. The house stays livable for you, your kids, the dog.
Build & inspections
- Same crew start to finish — no subcontractor handoffs, no "we're waiting on the plumber" delays.
- Rough inspections — plumbing, electrical, framing — scheduled before drywall closes the walls.
- Weekly walkthroughs with you to confirm finish placements before they're permanent.
Finishes & details
- Tile, paint, trim, hardware. The slowest phase — where 80% of the "quality feel" of a remodel actually gets decided.
- Our lead foreman walks the punch list with you room by room. Anything you flag goes on the list, gets fixed before sign-off.
- Final municipal inspections pulled. Certificate of occupancy / completion handed over.
Walkthrough & 2-year warranty
- Final walkthrough — anything you flag gets fixed before we invoice the last payment. We don't chase final checks; we earn them.
- You get a written 2-year warranty on workmanship. Not a marketing slogan — a signed document.
- If something fails in year one or two, we come back and fix it. No fight, no "out of scope" runaround.
In writing. Every time.
Four guarantees we put in writing — before any work begins.
Most contractor horror stories trace back to four broken promises. We close all four in our contract, not in marketing.
2-Year Workmanship Warranty
Every joint, tile, fixture, and finish is backed for two full years. If our build fails, we come back and fix it — no charge, no debate.
Fixed-Price Quotes
You sign one number. We hold to it. No mid-project change orders, no "we found something" surprises hidden in the drywall.
Fully Licensed & Insured
Illinois-licensed contractor, $2M general liability, workers' comp on every crew member. We bring proof of insurance before we bring tools.
In-House Team — No Subs
Same crew from demo day to final walkthrough. No subcontractor handoffs, no scheduling chaos, no "the other guys did that part."
What homeowners ask before signing.
Plain answers — the kind we'd give a neighbor over coffee, not the ones written for a brochure.

How much does a typical kitchen or bathroom remodel cost?
Bathroom remodels in our area typically run $18,000–$45,000. Mid-range kitchens are usually $35,000–$80,000 — full custom kitchens can reach $120,000+. We give you a fixed-price quote in writing after the in-home estimate, so you know the exact number before signing anything.
-
How long will my project take?
A bathroom is usually 3–5 weeks from demo to final walkthrough. A standard kitchen runs 6–8 weeks. Basement finishes are 5–8 weeks. We give you a written schedule before we start — and because we use our own in-house crew, we don't lose days waiting on a subcontractor to show up.
-
Do you handle the permits and inspections?
Yes — every time. We pull the permits, schedule the inspections, and meet with the inspectors. You don't deal with the village. We handle Buffalo Grove, Arlington Heights, Lombard, Glen Ellyn, Wheaton, and the rest of our service area.
-
Can we live in the house during the remodel?
Almost always, yes. We seal off the work zone with plastic, set up a temporary kitchen if we're remodeling yours, vacuum daily, and do a deep clean at the end. Most clients stay in the home for the full project — we plan the sequence around your daily life.
-
How do payments work?
A small deposit at signing, then progress payments tied to milestones (rough-in complete, drywall complete, final walkthrough). You never pre-pay for work that hasn't started. Final payment is only released after you sign off on the final walkthrough — not before.
